FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
11/20/24- ECAC Esports is excited to announce a new partnership with the Collegiate Cephalopod Association (CCA) to enhance and expand the collegiate Splatoon 3 scene.
Effective Spring 2025, ECAC members will have access to compete with the distinguished teams of the CCA, amplifying the league's scope and influence across campuses nationwide.
Both organizations will maintain their independent operations while encouraging broader participation in esports events. Notably, membership in one organization is not required to compete in the other, preserving autonomy while fostering collaborative growth opportunities.
"We are thrilled to partner with the ECAC for the Spring 2025 semester,” said David Febles, Co-Founder of CCA. “This collaboration marks a significant step forward in bringing collegiate Splatoon to new heights, combining CCA’s passion for the competitive Splatoon community with ECAC’s extensive expertise in collegiate athletics and esports.”
"The ECAC is thrilled to partner with the CCA to expand opportunities in the collegiate Splatoon 3 community," said Johnson Scoggins, Assistant Commissioner & Director of ECAC Esports. "Together, we aim to foster a dynamic and inclusive environment where student-athletes can compete and connect. We’re excited to support the growth of collegiate Splatoon in the Spring 2025 season and beyond."

The ECAC's esports platform has and continues to expand the Conference's geographic footprint nationally.
About the Collegiate Cephalopod Association (CCA) The Collegiate Cephalopod Association (CCA) is a grassroots community dedicated to uniting college students that play Splatoon 3 and helping to start collegiate Splatoon clubs at universities around the world. The CCA was founded in June 2020 as a collaboration between two flagship collegiate Splatoon clubs — UC San Diego’s “Triton Splatoon” and Purdue University’s “Splatoon at Purdue” — who shared this vision of expanding the game’s collegiate community. Led by a volunteer group of students and alumni, the CCA offers regular competitions every semester with the goal of providing the best competitive experience for teams and players of all experiences and backgrounds.
