ECAC Esports is a comprehensive collegiate esports league that spans across North America. Although the ECAC Esports season is conducted online, there will be fall and spring events conducted in person. ECAC hosts two seasons each year: one in the fall and one in the spring. Each season features a 7-week regular season, which is formatted either as a round-robin or Swiss style, depending on the game. This is followed by a playoff period lasting 3-4 weeks. Each playoff bracket includes 16-32 of the top players or teams from each division, or the best participants from each game in the Swiss-style competitions.

Our mission at ECAC Esports is to add value to our member schools by enhancing the competitive experience for the thousands of students seeking to participate in intercollegiate esports. Since our inaugural season in 2017, ECAC Esports has grown significantly, and we are excited to offer 27 game titles and modes with over 440 member schools. Johnson Scoggins, Director of ECAC Esports stated, "We take great pride in fostering the growth of our community and listening to our members' feedback. We would like to thank the organizations, teams, players, coaches, and directors that have helped us get to the point we are at today. Whether you have competed for us or still compete with us, we appreciate all of you!"
Discord is a free online chat, voice, and video platform that our league uses for discussions, announcements, tournament organization and anything that pertains to competition that is not on our website. In order to participate in our competition or communicate with our competition staff, we require all coaches, active players, subs, etc. to be a member of our server.

The ECAC live streams five nights a week throughout the season. These live streams allow for featured matches and programs to be showcased. Each live stream is conducted by the ECAC broadcast and production team. In addition to online competition, the ECAC also hosts in-person events allowing competitors to experience what it's like to meet and play against their opponent while in the same room. These events are optional for members and are separate competition from the ECAC official online leagues. The ECAC crowns champions and also honors competitors' performances in game and outside of the game through additional award categories: Player and Rookie of the Month (each game-title), Director of the Season, Coach of the Season, Academic Honors, Player and Rookie of the Season (each game-title). Our final award is given out to an outstanding program once a year, the ECAC Esports Commissioner's Cup.
